Dr. Neesha Patel received her Honours Bachelor of Science from McMaster University before attending the University of Waterloo where she completed her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2017 with recognition on the Dean’s Honors List for academic excellence.
In school, she was vice-president of VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanities) student chapter, organizing fundraisers and optometric mission trips. Dr. Patel participated in a volunteer mission trip to Peru, where she delivered eye care to underserviced communities. She also completed an ocular disease and therapeutics internship in Muskogee, Oklahoma where she managed diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and other retinal diseases.
Dr. Patel is passionate about providing high quality eye care to her patients, with a focus on education and disease prevention. She is currently an active member of the Special Olympics Opening Eyes, providing free eye assessments to people with intellectual disability. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, traveling and staying active by going to the gym, hiking and rock climbing.
